Background and Purpose
The Towing Review Board of the City of Fairlawn was formed in 2024 to evaluate the towing policies, and the rotational lists of towing companies employed by the Fairlawn Police Department. This board convenes to assess and address complaints regarding towing companies and possesses the authority to issue warnings or suspend companies that fail to adhere to the regulations set forth by the Towing Review Board.
Selection of Towing Companies
The Towing Review Board is scheduled to evaluate its comprehensive towing policies and the roster of towing companies every three years. Additionally, the City of Fairlawn may invite applications for extra motor vehicle storage facilities or for larger towing companies when deemed appropriate. The initiation of the application process will occur whenever the Board finds it necessary, providing adequate notice to interested parties to allow them the chance to submit their applications for the Towing Review Board's consideration.
