Pursuant to Fairlawn City Code Section 291.011, the Residential Housing Assistance Program provides financial assistance to eligible residents of the City of Fairlawn for specific home improvements. Residents who own and live in residential properties that were built within the City of Fairlawn on or before January 1, 2000, or residential properties which are five years beyond the certificate of occupancy for the residential structure are eligible for this program. Eligible homeowners can be reimbursed for the installation of water control devices and certain electrical equipment to help mitigate issues like flooding and address electrical safety concerns. The program covers up to 50% of the cost of these improvements, with a maximum reimbursement of $3,000.
