Halloween Open House and Movie in the Park

Saturday, October 19                              6:00 pm                           *movie starts about 7:00 pm

Fort Island Park (413 Trunko Road)

The Learning Resource Center will be open for our annual Halloween Open House and Costume Party. The event includes a costume contest with prizes, a spooky hike, roasted marshmallows and s’mores at the fire pit, painting pumpkins, and we’ll have the telescopes set up so we can star gaze and view Mercury!

Hocus Pocus will be shown near the playground. Bring your friends, blankets and chairs and enjoy the movie!

No registration required. No rain date.

Gingerbread Decorating

Wednesday, December 11       5:30 pm - 7:30 pm       $5 per gingerbread house (includes gingerbread cookies too!)

Fairlawn Kiwanis Community Center (3486 S. Smith Road)     Register by December 10 

We are unable to take registrations at the event.

Make your own graham cracker gingerbread house with your favorite candy and decorate some gingerbread cookies to take home! We will have all the basics, but you may bring your own special toppings if you wish! 

**Don't forget your new pj's or books to be entered for the Gingerbread night raffle.

Noon Year's Eve

Tuesday, December 31     11:00 am - 1:00 pm      $5/family     Fairlawn Kiwanis Community Center (3486 S Smith Road)

Register by December 27 (We are unable to take registrations at the event.)

Ring in 2020 with us at this family friendly event and enjoy all the fun of a party, just a bit earlier! Pizza, a photo booth, crafts and surprises will fill the time before we countdown and celebrate the stroke of noon with a balloon drop, noise makers, and a sparkling apple juice toast.

**Don't forget your new pj's or books to be entered for the Noon Year's Eve raffle.

**Pajama Program

Donate new pajamas and books at our Gingerbread House Making program and Noon Year’s Eve event. Each book or pair of pajamas will enter you into a drawing for that day! Check our Facebook and website for more information on the grand prize and look for our donation box at each event! All pajamas and books will be donated to the Eastern Ohio Chapter of Pajama Program (  One raffle ticket per new item donated. 


Yoga instructor Troy is in the process of obtaining his Registered Yoga Teacher Certification and will be bringing his knowledge to you beginning October 3rd!

Bring your own yoga mat - if you don't have one, don't fret! We will have extras on site.

Cost: Fairlawn residents - 5-class card - $25 | 10-class card - $45
Non-residents - 5-class card - $35 | 10-class card - $55

You must register ahead of time. Registrants will receive their card at the first class. We are unable to accept registrations at the class.
