Parking on any street within the City of Fairlawn is prohibited from 3:00am to 6:00am. Violators shall be issued an overnight parking tag.

What are the policies of barking dog complaints?
The City of Fairlawn has an ordinance stating, "A dog which barks, yelps, or howls in excess of fifteen minutes on each of two or more consecutive days shall be deemed to be habitually barking, yelping, or howling." Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.

The City of Fairlawn has a curfew law which states, "No one under the age of 16 shall be on streets, sidewalks, or other public places in the city between the hours of 10:00 pm and 5:00 am, and no one between the ages of 16 and 18 between the hours of 11:00 pm and 5:00 am except when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian."

What are the laws regarding loud noise?
The city has an ordinance prohibiting loud noises in residential neighborhoods (i.e. construction work, yard work, chainsaws, etc.) between the hours of 9:00 pm and 8:00 am the following day.

What is the procedure for abondoned/junk vehicles?
The Fairlawn Police Department may impound/dispose of vehicle(s) that are left on private and/or public property or improperly registered pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 4513.60 - 4513.64.

How do I file a Police Report/Crash Report?
You can contact the Police Department at (330) 666-8871. For emergencies, dial 911. Incident Reports and Crash Reports will not be taken over the phone.

Why do communications specialists ask questions that they already have answers to?
Regardless of the information that is displayed on the screen, the communications specialist has to confirm that it has not changed. A recording system allows playback of all phone calls coming into the communications center allowing call takers to quickly replay messages whenever necessary.
