Safety Town is a five-day summer educational program that instructs children on crossing the street, riding the school bus, 911, stranger danger, the work of police officers and firefighters, bicycle safety, good touch/bad touch, online safety, water safety and more. The serious subject of safety is combined with crafts, songs and lots of fun and there is no fee to participate.
Due to the overwhelming response to Safety Town, we are limited to accepting only those children who will be starting kindergarten this fall in the Copley-Fairlawn School District, or those who reside in the City of Fairlawn. The Copley-Fairlawn School District includes Arrowhead Elementary School, Fort Island Elementary School, Herberich Elementary School, and St. Hilary School.
Safety Town will be held from Monday, June 17th, 2024, through Friday, June 21st, 2024, at the Fairlawn Community Center (3486 S. Smith Rd.) There will be two sessions, the morning session will run from 9:00am until 11:30am each day and the afternoon session will run from 1:00pm until 3:30pm each day.
Please direct any questions you may have to Officer Gayle Ames at amesg@fairlawn.us or 330-670-4384.
Registration forms will be accepted beginning April 1st, 2024, through May 31st, 2024, or until maximum session capacity is reached.
