Safety Town

2021 Safety Town

Safety Town is a five-day summer educational program that instructs children on crossing the street, riding the school bus, 911, stranger danger, the work of police officers and firefighters, bicycle safety, good touch/bad touch, online safety, water safety and more. The serious subject of safety is combined with crafts, songs and lots of fun and there is no fee to participate.

Due to the overwhelming response to Safety Town, we are limited to accepting only those children who will be starting kindergarten this fall in the Copley-Fairlawn School District, or those who reside in the City of Fairlawn. The Copley-Fairlawn School District includes Arrowhead Elementary School, Fort Island Elementary School, Herberich Elementary School and St. Hilary School. For the safety of everyone, all children attending Safety Town, as well as our student volunteers, will be required to wear a mask while indoors unless state guidelines are modified.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate those children who would have been eligible to attend the 2020 Fairlawn Safety Town Program.

Safety Town will be held from Monday, July 19, 2021 through Friday, July 23, 2021 at the Fairlawn Community Center (3486 S. Smith Rd.). There will be two sessions per day. The morning session will run from 9:00am until 11:30am each day and the afternoon session will run from 1:00pm until 3:30pm each day. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, our graduation ceremony will not be open to guests this year however, a video and pictures will be posted on the City of Fairlawn website.

REGISTRATION FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED BEGINNING APRIL 1, 2021 THROUGH MAY 31, 2021 OR UNTIL MAXIMUM SESSION CAPACITY IS REACHED.
