2023 Safety Town

Safety Town is a five-day summer educational program that instructs children on crossing the street safely, school bus safety, the use of 911, stranger danger, the work of police officers and firefighters, bicycle safety, good touch/bad touch, online safety, water safety and more. The serious subject of safety is combined with crafts, activities, songs and lots of fun and there is no fee to participate.
Registration forms for Fairlawn Safety Town are now available and will be accepted from April 1st, until May 31st, unless maximum capacity is reached prior to this date. Please note that no registration forms will be accepted after May 31st.
Please complete both pages of the registration form, as well as the GASP permission form, also available on this page, and return by email to wentza@fairlawn.us. Completed forms may also be mailed to/dropped off at the Fairlawn Police Department, 3487 S. Smith Rd., Fairlawn, OH 44333. Upon receipt of your child’s form, we will send a confirmation email informing you which session your child has been assigned to. You may indicate your session preference on the registration form, and we will do our best to accommodate your requests however, session preferences are not guaranteed.
Due to the overwhelming response to Safety Town, we are limited to accepting only those children who will be starting kindergarten in the Copley-Fairlawn School District this fall, or children who reside in the City of Fairlawn and will be attending kindergarten elsewhere. The Copley-Fairlawn School District includes Arrowhead Elementary School, Fort Island Elementary School, Herberich Elementary School and St. Hilary Catholic Elementary School.
Safety Town will be held Monday, June 19th, thru Friday, June 23rd at the Fairlawn Community Center (3486 S. Smith Rd., Fairlawn, OH 44333). There will be two sessions per day, the morning session will run from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and the afternoon session will run from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
**Graduation for the morning session will be held Friday, June 23rd, from 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Graduation for the afternoon session will be held Friday, June 23rd, from 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Parents and family members are encouraged to join us for the graduation ceremonies.
This year, Bath and Copley Police Departments will have their own Safety Town Program. For further information, contact the Bath Police Department at (330) 666-3736 or the Copley Police Department at (330) 666-4218.
